Boehringer Ingelheim introduces "Flexible Benefits System" with employee-friendly practices
Boehringer Ingelheim Turkey aims to provide its employees with a healthy work-life balance through its employee-focused culture and innovative practices. With the Flexible Benefits System (Bee Flexible), the first of its kind in the sector, the company offers employees the opportunity to personalize their benefits. The company has also introduced the "Flexible Friday" practice during the summer months. For over 130 years, the company has provided a trustworthy, inclusive and supportive work environment, and continues to develop pioneering practices to increase employee wellbeing and satisfaction.
In line with its employee-focused organizational culture, the company offers its employees the Flexible Benefits System (Bee Flexible), which is among the first in the sector, allowing them to personalize and tailor their benefits as they wish. This enables employees to create a customized package from a wide range of additional options, including vacation credits and shopping cards, alongside their basic and standard benefits. Most recently, coverage for employees' physical health expenses has been added to this package.
Flexible Friday for an Early Start to the Weekend
Continuing to implement many innovative models tailored to changing conditions and needs in order to sustain employee wellbeing and satisfaction, the company has most recently introduced the "Flexible Friday" practice, which is implemented every summer. Through this practice, employees finish their work day at 15:00 on Fridays during June, July and August, allowing them to make an early and enjoyable start to the weekend.
This way, employees avoid traffic when leaving the office and can start their weekend earlier to rest and spend quality time with loved ones. Additionally, further practices are offered to provide employees with more flexible working conditions during the summer months. Employees can work from any location for 4 weeks during July and August. Furthermore, company employees have the option to work remotely for 10 days per month throughout the year.
The company aims to establish a healthy work-life balance by providing additional leave beyond statutory leave. Under this framework, employees receive an additional week of annual leave during their first 5 years, in addition to their statutory leave. Through the "New at Boehringer Ingelheim" leave, all newly hired employees can access 10 days of wellbeing and work-life balance leave without waiting to complete their first year. Additionally, paternity leave is provided to new fathers. New fathers receive up to 20 working days of fully paid paternity leave in addition to their statutory leave.
Furthermore, the "Employee Support Program" has been implemented to assist employees in areas where they need support in their personal lives. Through this program, employees can access free consultation services online in various areas such as psychological counseling, veterinary consultation, and home/garden plant care.
