Bayer Continues Young Science Ambassadors Project

Bayer's Bayer Young Science Ambassadors Project, which has been running with the Community Volunteers Foundation for 10 years, continues its activities during the pandemic period. Since March 2020, Bayer and TOG have been carrying out the project on an online platform, and in 2021, they continue to reach young people through the same channels. In the project, which has turned remote learning and quarantine into an opportunity, work and applications continue at full pace with both primary school students and ambassadors as well as teachers within the scope of teacher training. Through the training sessions conducted, science literacy education is being provided to young people across Turkey via digital channels. Young people continue to sow science seeds by reaching primary school-age children through similar channels from where they left off.

New objectives set alongside new implementations

While training for volunteer teachers and students continues without slowing, the project, which has also focused on social media to keep primary school students' interest in science alive, reaches children with easy and entertaining experiments that can be done at home. In addition, a total of 5 teacher training sessions were successfully completed during this period with the participation of 90 teachers from 34 different cities. The Bayer Young Science Ambassadors, which have taken as their mission to spread science and reach children in this way even during the pandemic, have reached 3,344 young people and 40,735 children over 10 years. The project aims to reach more than 2,000 students during 2021.
