BAU Launches Certificate Program in Metaverse Field Bahçeşehir University (BAU), hosting Turkey's first educational program in the Metaverse field, which is being followed and participated in with interest by the entire world, is launching a comprehensive certificate program for all stakeholders in the field.   The program, to be organized for the first time in Turkey, will offer comprehensive education starting from the fundamentals of the Metaverse world and addressing the vision of its future transformation. Participants will be able to register in the program by making tree donations to the Aegean Forest Foundation. In partnership with Bahçeşehir University Research Center and Tazefikir Group, a certificate program aimed at developing qualified workforce for the Metaverse, where labor shortages are growing rapidly this year, is being launched for all professional and amateur stakeholders. The 12-week program will examine many topics including introduction to the Metaverse world, Metaverse platforms, wearable sensors, brand communication in the Metaverse, and Metaverse and ethics. Throughout the program, expert figures who have made significant contributions to the sector's development in Turkey will provide training.

Participants Will Register in the Program by Making Tree Donations

The certificate program, which aims to impart competency in software, design, hardware and content elements for the Metaverse—which is expected to create deep impacts in many professions including entertainment, health, communications, sports and education and generate many new business opportunities—has another important objective: protecting the planet. In this context, participants will be able to register in the program by making tree donations to the Aegean Forest Foundation. Thus, tree planting will take place when registering for a certificate program for the first time in Turkey. Prof. Dr. Çisil Sohodol, Faculty Member of the Public Relations Department at Bahçeşehir University, stated: "The Metaverse certificate program is opened to participation through tree donations to the Aegean Forest Foundation, aiming to remind us of our responsibilities toward the physical world that enables all this while human existence comes to life in a new digital realm. Through the participants' donations, on the one hand the world's first Metaverse Forest will be established, and on the other hand, awareness about digital carbon footprint is being targeted. Our most important objective is to remind ourselves that technology is very important and valuable for facilitating our lives, yet we have a planet that must be protected, and to emphasize the importance of environmental sustainability." The certificate program, which aims to develop innovative project ideas regarding the Metaverse universe, will begin online on 17 March, with applications continuing until 15 March. Trees donated for registration will be planted in an appropriate afforestation area in cooperation with the Aegean Forest Foundation, establishing the Tazefikir BAU Metaverse Forest.
