Bartın University to Host 'R&D Project Fair'

Applications have begun for the 'R&D Project Marketplace', one of the region's most important events launched by Bartın University under the slogan 'I have an idea too'.

Last year, 204 projects submitted from 33 different provinces and abroad were exhibited, bringing project owners together with industry representatives. Applications for the event can be made through the website "projepazari.bartin.edu.tr".

Within the scope of the organisation showcasing the finest example of public-university-industry cooperation, applications will continue until 12 April 2020, Sunday.

The 'R&D Project Marketplace' will take place at Bartın University, Kutlubey Campus on 21-22 April 2020 and will last two days, with the best projects competing for over TRY 20,000 in total awards.

Event Coordinator and Organisation Chairman Assoc. Prof. Abdullah Cahit Karaoğlanlı stated that researchers, entrepreneurs, scientists and university students, as well as high school students, can submit their ideas under 13 main themes and a total of 61 different categories within the scope of the event.

Event themes have been determined and announced

The themes for Bartın University's "IV. R&D Project Marketplace" event have been determined and published at "projepazari.bartin.edu.tr". The main themes at the event are as follows: Smart Technologies, Engineering Technologies, Energy Technologies, Materials Technologies, Chemical Technologies, Health Sciences, Molecular Biology and Genetics, Environment, Forestry, Agriculture and Food Technologies, Projects for Filyos Investment Basin, Design of Islamic Science History Objects, Projects for Bartın University and its Campus, High School Category and Other Fields

Bartın University Rector Prof. Dr. Orhan Uzun invited everyone who says 'I have an idea too' to the free-to-attend Bartın University 'IV. R&D Project Marketplace' event, noting that the event is an important opportunity for researchers, scientists and university students, as well as high school students, to showcase their work on future technologies and meet with industry representatives.

Rector Uzun, expressing great excitement and pride in organising the fourth edition of the 'R&D Project Marketplace' event, said: "We are delighted to be organising the fourth edition of the R&D Project Marketplace, which we are implementing to contribute to our country's domestic technology drive.

With our organisation, which will be carried out with the aim of spreading awareness of R&D and innovation, establishing a culture of project preparation and development, showcasing and rewarding exemplary projects, and bringing together important projects that cannot be realised due to financing and infrastructure difficulties with relevant individuals and organisations, we are contributing to Turkey's transformation into a technology-producing society," he said.

Rector Uzun noted that with the 'R&D Project Marketplace' event, categories were determined by consulting expert scientists and industry representatives in the field, and said: "Projects carried out in the field of 'Smart Logistics and Integrated Regional Applications' focused on the 'Filyos Investment Basin' of Bartın University, which has been included in the specialisation scope by our Higher Education Institution (YÖK), will be evaluated by a jury comprised of academics and business people competent in the field. We eagerly await new ideas to be presented in line with this area, which we have been emphasising with firm steps alongside all our stakeholders. I believe that with our event to be held, the projects presented in the categories specified under 13 main themes will also draw the attention of industry representatives, and the transformation of projects into high-value-added products will be realised," he said. - BARTIN
