Archroma Expands Tetrasulfonated Optical Brightening Agent Capacity in Europe
Archroma announced that it will invest in a new production facility for tetrasulfonated optical brightening agents (OBAs) at its existing production sites in Prat del Llobregat, Spain. The significant investment focuses on expanding production capacity primarily to meet demand in Europe and to provide a platform for future innovations in sustainable whiteness solutions. The new capacity is expected to become operational in mid-May 2017, positioning Archroma at a significant OBA capacity level in Europe. The facility is designed to be expanded further in the coming years. Archroma will also contribute to the production team at Prat del Llobregat to support the investment. Valerie Diele-Braun, Head of Packaging and Paper Specialties at Archroma, stated: "This investment will not only expand our production capacity, but will also pave the way for us to introduce the innovative and sustainable chemicals we are currently developing."Advertisement
