Aramco and CNBM Announce Strategic Partnership
Aramco and CNBM signed a five-year agreement to conduct work in advanced materials and manufacturing.
Aramco, one of the world's leading integrated energy and chemical companies, has signed a five-year Collaboration Framework Agreement (CFA) with China National Building Material Group Co. (CNBM), one of the largest global building materials manufacturers, to explore new opportunities in advanced materials and industrial development.
The companies identified a range of areas for potential collaboration, including the establishment of manufacturing facilities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the production of wind turbine blades, hydrogen storage tanks, lower-carbon building materials, and energy storage solutions. Other areas of focus include a potential new center for training, inspection and accreditation, as well as a proposed joint technology development center and laboratory to promote innovation.
Wail Al Jaafari, Vice President of Aramco Technical Services, stated, "We look forward to expanding our work with CNBM as we pursue new breakthroughs in materials science that have the potential to deliver tangible benefits across many sectors, particularly the construction sector. Our goal is to help steer the materials transformation by developing solutions that can reduce construction emissions and achieving innovations that enhance product performance. By combining Aramco's expertise in non-metallic materials with CNBM's knowledge and experience in the sector, we aim to identify breakthrough advances and new business opportunities, as well as encourage further development of manufacturing capacities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia."
