Amgen Celebrates Global Diversity Awareness Month

Amgen Türkiye celebrated Global Diversity Awareness Month with activities organized under the motto "Our diversity shapes science." Throughout October, initiatives were implemented to strengthen awareness of diversity, inclusion and belonging. With training sessions, panel discussions and social media activities held under the motto "Our diversity shapes science," the aim was to strengthen awareness of diversity, inclusion and belonging. The events, during which guideline documents and communication materials were also shared, continued throughout October, which is recognized as Global Diversity Awareness Month. Amgen Türkiye believes that companies will move forward with policies based on human rights and diversity, and integrates this understanding into its business strategy. Through the Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (DI&B approach, Amgen emphasizes creating an inclusive and productive environment that enables all employees to feel respected and valued and to unleash their full potential.

Amgen Türkiye General Manager Güldem Berkman stated that they implement the concepts of equal opportunity, diversity, inclusion and belonging in all areas. Güldem Berkman continued as follows:

"Being an inclusive workplace centered on diversity encourages creativity and innovation. At Amgen, we foster an inclusive, high-performance culture where we benefit from each other's talents and backgrounds. We are collaborating to raise awareness on this matter. Diversity is also a concept we take into account in our supplier selection. Furthermore, we always encourage women's participation in the workforce through policies that will contribute to women's employment. Diversity strengthens us by providing a more creative work environment. We embrace our differences and draw inspiration from one another's differences. We value learning from each other." During Global Diversity Awareness Month, the following events were organized: "Cerebral Palsy Awareness Session," "Mental Health Day Session," "Inclusive Communication Training," "Shape Your Career Panel" and "How Aware Are We of Our Diversity? Learning by Playing Session." At the beginning of October, Amgen Türkiye brought the management team together at an Inclusive Leadership workshop to address this topic, obtained individual commitments from the management team, and subsequently began developing a company commitment that would demonstrate its determination and vision on this matter. All events were met with great interest by Amgen employees.
