Alışan-Den Hartogh launched its new tank storage and filling facility in Gebze Muallimköy on 13 May, occupying 15,000 m2. Operating since 2005, Alışan-Den Hartogh has added another investment to its portfolio in Turkey. The company opened its new tank storage and filling facility in Gebze Muallimköy. The launch of the new facility took place on 13 May with the participation of Alışan Lojistik CEO Damla Alışan and Den Hartogh's Group Managing Director Pieter Den Hartogh. The new facility will provide ISO tank container storage, handling, heating and fully automated filling (transfer) services in both free and bonded zones. The tank container storage and filling facility is located just 300 metres from the original facility opened in 2005 and occupies an area of 15,000 m2. The facility, with a capacity to store over 1,000 filled tank containers of 25 m³ volume and serving as both a bonded and free zone, stands out for its compliance with ADR standards and environmental considerations.
First washing facility accredited by CEFIC
Alışan Lojistik CEO Damla Alışan gave remarks at the opening. Alışan stated: "Until 2005, there was no facility in Turkey meeting the standards to provide tanker and tank container cleaning services in the chemical industry. There were only workshop operations referred to as car-truck-tanker washers that could clean vehicles carrying only basic chemicals, lacking Environment Ministry licenses. Cleaning work carried out without trained and experienced staff and without state-of-the-art equipment can cause irreversible biological and chemical damage to the environment. At this point, together with our valued business partner Den Hartogh, we envisioned using our expertise to address these shortcomings, bring this operation up to EU standards and make these regulations 'mandatory' in our country. Today, Alışan-Den Hartogh, beyond passing ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 audits, is the first washing facility accredited by the European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC). Additionally, under the umbrella of the Chemical Transport Vehicle Cleaners Association (KTTD), which it helped establish, it continues to work hard for sector regulation," Alışan said. Operating with zero-spill target
Alışan, noting their pride and satisfaction in continuing to serve international and local brands at their new facilities, stated: "Today, as Alışan-Den Hartogh, we are pleased and proud to continue serving international and local brands at our new facility. The purpose of the environment-friendly services we will provide at this new facility is the storage and handling of ISO containers currently stored and handled under non-standard conditions in the region in compliance with international regulations. Through this storage operation consolidated in a controlled area with all safety measures in place, containers waiting on vehicles in traffic-open areas will no longer pose a threat to the region's traffic or create a hazard. With our Container Storage and Filling Facility operating with international standard closed-loop and automated systems, special ventilation and suppression infrastructure, low emissions and a zero-spill target, we aim to contribute to the region with an investment of TRY 50 million and the creation of over 50 new jobs," Alışan said. [caption id="attachment_161085" align="aligncenter"] Den Hartogh's Group Managing Director Pieter Den Hartogh[/caption] Den Hartogh's Group Managing Director Pieter Den Hartogh said in his opening remarks: "Today, as a continuation of our 19-year business partnership, we are together again at a new beginning. As I speak now, I am travelling through time and remembering how we started this venture. Our entrepreneurial spirit and shared values led us to sign a joint story with a valued logistics service provider like Alışan in 2005. In our 19-year successful journey, today we welcome yet another new facility, and our investments in Turkey continue and will continue. Developing in parallel with positive developments in Turkey's economy, and considering that the chemical industry is Turkey's second most exporting sector, large firms like us in the logistics field bear significant responsibilities. To provide the expected quality in hazardous material transport, carriers must aim for customer satisfaction by starting from the laws and regulations set and prioritising the environment and human health above all. In this context, the services provided must be monitored through periodic inspections, documentation and safety performance audits. Another way to ensure safety and thus increase quality is the human factor—trained personnel. As ADH, we place great importance on all these crucial points across all our facilities and continue to work tirelessly and invest to leave a more liveable world for future generations."
