Aksa Jeneratör has achieved a global first in the generator sector by completing a comprehensive Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of its products and preparing the world's first generator Environmental Product Declaration (EPD). This work is being recognized as an important step toward environmental performance reporting that will become mandatory under European Union (EU) directives in the coming years.

EPD Will Become More Important Under EU Directives
Sustainability criteria and environmental regulations established within the EU's Green Deal framework require transparent documentation of products' environmental impacts throughout their life cycle. The EPD, prepared in compliance with the international ISO 14025 standard and verified by independent third parties, serves as an official document. By completing this process early, Aksa Jeneratör has created differentiation in the sector and achieved compliance with future standards today.

A Global First
The work carried out by Aksa Jeneratör is the first EPD prepared globally in the generator sector. Approved by The International EPD® System (IES) and licensed by EPD Turkey, the certificate presents a detailed analysis covering all stages from raw material supply through the end of the product's life.

The study encompasses a broad range of generator sets from 38 kVA to 3000 kVA. This calculation demonstrates Aksa's commitment to measuring environmental impacts and developing sustainable solutions.

Technical Details of the Study
The LCA that forms the basis of the EPD evaluates products' environmental performance through critical indicators such as global warming potential (GWP), acidification potential (AP), ozone depletion potential (ODP), abiotic depletion potential (ADP), and water depletion potential (WDP).
Prepared in compliance with ISO 14025 and verified through independent audits, this comprehensive analysis has enabled Aksa Jeneratör to set a standard in the sector by providing transparent and reliable environmental performance data.

Long-Term Sustainability Goals
Aksa Jeneratör is translating its environmental responsibility commitment into its production processes. In 2024, the company met 36% of its electricity needs from solar energy and has announced a goal to increase its solar power plant (GES) usage capacity to 60% in the coming years.
