Aksa Enerji Makes New 145 MW Energy Investment in Gabon

Aksa Enerji, Turkey's largest publicly listed independent power producer, is committing to a 145 MW gas-fired power plant investment in Gabon. The plants to be commissioned in the capital Libreville and the city of Port Gentil aim to provide long-term support to the country's energy supply security and economic development.

Aksa Enerji, Turkey's largest publicly listed independent power producer with more than 3,000 MW of installed capacity across 11 plants in 7 countries, continues to accelerate its investments in Africa. Aksa Enerji completed the signing process for the long-term leasing and operation of gas-fired power plants to be built in Libreville, the capital of Gabon, and Port Gentil, the economic center of the country, to meet the region's urgent electricity needs.

Under the agreement signed with Gabon's state electricity utility Société d'Energie et d'Eau du Gabon "SEEG", Aksa Enerji will produce electricity using local natural gas resources and supply electricity for a period of 10 years.

The plants, which will contribute long-term to Gabon's energy supply security, will be commissioned in the first quarter of 2026 and will produce electricity using local natural gas resources.
