Smart T-Shirt Enables ECG Measurements A smart t-shirt capable of performing ECG measurements has been successfully tested. The device was designed through collaborative research between Near East University's Innovation and Information Technology Center and the Center for Operations Research in Healthcare in the field of wearable technology. With the advancement of wearable technology, many health tests that would normally be performed only in fully equipped hospitals can now be conducted using smart garments that you can carry with you at all times. The smart t-shirt developed by researchers from YDU's Innovation and Information Technology Center and the Center for Operations Research in Healthcare can monitor and record the heart's electrical activity in real time. The t-shirt's initial prototype has successfully passed testing and will be able to record ECG data from cardiac patients in real time, providing doctors with instant information when necessary. The electromechanical components and artificial intelligence-based algorithms of the device embedded in the t-shirt were all developed by YDU engineers. The device, designed through collaboration between software, computer, electrical, electronic, mechanical and biomedical engineers, operates flawlessly even during active physical activity thanks to the developed software.

Patient's real-time ECG data will reach the doctor

University engineers and researchers are continuing their work without pause to convert the smart t-shirt, whose initial prototype operates successfully, into a final product. In the second phase of the project, the aim is to transmit real-time ECG data monitored by the smart t-shirt to the patient's doctor instantaneously. This will create an opportunity for early intervention in potential heart conditions. Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ: "The scientific research we conduct in the health sector is very important. Prof. Dr. Şanlıdağ, noting that they will continue to pursue such high-technology studies and develop new products in the health sector, said: "We have thus far transformed scientific research in the health sector into very important products. The protective nasal spray Olirin, PCR diagnostic kits we developed for viral diseases such as COVID-19 and monkeypox, our PCR kit for GMO analysis, and the products we have developed in the wearable health products field are just a few examples.
