AGM to Acquire Advanced Hard Coating Company Duralar

Container control products leader AGM Container Controls, Inc. announced it has acquired Duralar Technologies, a manufacturer of coating and ultra-hard metal coating systems. Duralar will become a wholly owned subsidiary of AGM. The announcement was made jointly by AGM President and CEO Howard Stewart and Duralar CEO Andrew Tudhope. Both AGM and Duralar are currently managed from Tucson headquarters. AGM President and CEO Stewart said, "We are excited to welcome Andrew and the Duralar team to the AGM family. In 2018, Duralar introduced the innovative Emperion™ system for high-efficiency deposition of ultra-hard coatings on metal parts. Equipment using the company's proprietary DualArmor™ process coats both the interior and exterior surfaces of parts simultaneously. Emperion also features twin deposition chambers for nearly continuous coating and high throughput, allowing one chamber to be loaded while the other is being processed. The system can apply different PECVD coatings such as Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) and Duralar's unique ArmorLube™, which combines exceptional hardness with dry lubrication. This makes it ideal for many applications requiring clean, dry, permanent lubrication without oils or greases.
