5th Istanbul Economy Summit to Be Held Under the Theme 'Green Economy'

The fifth Istanbul Economy Summit, to be held on 10 December this year, will take place under the theme of "Green Economy".

  A press conference was held in Mardin ahead of the 5th Istanbul Economy Summit, which will take place at Çırağan Palace. Speaking at the meeting held at a hotel in the city, former State Minister and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Istanbul Economy Summit Kürşad Tüzmen referred to Mardin's importance in agriculture and the GAP Project. Pointing out that the city is also important in trade besides agriculture, Tüzmen noted that merchants and tradespeople in the region are reliable, and that Mardin ranks among successful cities in trade not only within Turkey but also with neighboring countries. Stating that Mardin needs to be more active for the economy summit, Tüzmen said, "We need to bring the world's businesspeople here. We have done this in the past. Mardin is a very important province in Turkey's transportation activities. For these areas to recover, we need to improve our relations with neighboring and surrounding countries even better than before. This is a step."

"I believe we will accomplish great things"

Drawing attention to work conducted in the past, Tüzmen noted that they previously organized trade delegations, bringing business leaders from the country together with business leaders from abroad. Describing the organization of trade fairs, Tüzmen said, "Therefore, there would be very strong results. Business leaders united by sector would come and check the quality of export products at the fair. It would be an attractive trip for them. This way, we made the country an attractive center." Tüzmen reported that by bringing trade fairs together, they created a multiplier effect, and with this effect, work advanced rapidly. Emphasizing that they believe work will reach an even better point now, Tüzmen said, "As a country, we went through a difficult period due to the pandemic. It is not over yet, but we tried to minimize its effects. I believe we will accomplish great things."   Source: AA
