2nd Recycling and Sustainability Workshop

Uşak Organize Sanayi Bölgesi Conference Hall hosted the 2nd Recycling and Sustainability Workshop. UOSB Chairman Halil Ağoğlu stated "More than two tons of textiles are processed daily in Uşak. We are a city operating in many sectors in the Aegean Region including textiles, ceramics, leather, rubber and food," while noting that the city is the rising star of the Aegean Region. The workshop was attended by Governor Turan Ergün, Mayor Mehmet Çakın, Provincial Police Director Mesut Gezer and Uşak Organize Sanayi Chairman (UOSB) Halil Ağoğlu. Speaking before the workshop, Ağoğlu stated that a recycling system is necessary for humanity to live in a better world. Chairman Ağoğlu stated, "The purpose of recycling is to establish a production and consumption culture that respects the environment and people, uses resources effectively and makes recycling economically indispensable. Uşak is a leader in the textile, plastics and rubber sectors. More than two tons of textiles are processed daily in Uşak. We are a city operating in many sectors in the Aegean Region including textiles, ceramics, leather, rubber and food. Uşak has recently become the rising star of the Aegean Region. On this path taken under the zero waste slogan, we are proud to work on behalf of our country as Uşak Organize Sanayi and to host you here." Governor Turan Ergün, who then took the podium to speak, emphasized that Uşak is influential in recycling and is one of the leading provinces in sustainability alongside recycling. Providing figures related to recycling, Governor Ergün stated that Uşak covers 75 percent of the country's recycling textiles and 35 percent of PET waste. The workshop concluded with speeches by business leaders.
