Heat Insulation Sector Must Be Focused On "Efficiency" In 2019
Insulation Has a Vital Role in Every Aspect
Austrotherm Group Business Development Director Özgür Kaan Alioğlu stated, "We are using 35% of our energy consumption in residential areas. More than 70% of the energy consumed in houses is for heating and cooling purposes. In 2017, we spent approximately USD 37 billion on energy imports and used 35% of the energy we import, that is, approximately USD 13 billion in buildings. Approximately 16 million out of 21 million homes in Turkey still do not have external thermal insulation. The insulation industry is vital in many respects for both enabling consumers to achieve greater energy savings and have a positive effect on their household economy, and also for decreasing the amount of energy imported for heating and cooling purposes in residential areas by our government. Insulation should be one of the priority issues for our country in terms of protecting nature by reducing the amount of carbon gases released and decreasing our dependency on foreign sources supporting our National Security policies" he said.Consumers Need to be Supported for More Efficient Thermal Insulation
Özgür Kaan Alioğlu continued; "We are thoroughly conducting our operations in the public sector under the leadership of İZODER and EPSDER, our sector associations. Recently, we witness consumers experiencing difficulties in allocating resources to thermal insulation investment due to the increase in industrial production finances and the decrease in purchasing power. At this point, our expectation is a new support from the government for the consumption of thermal insulation materials, as well as they are already supported in production, with necessary legislative changes and government incentives, thus enabling consumers to use more efficient thermal insulation products.Thicker Heat Insulation Board, More Energy Saving
Alioğlu said, "The situation today in the Turkish economic view is temporary and we have full confidence in Turkey. Due to that belief Austrotherm plans to continue its investments in Turkey. In 2019, we will focus on explaining the benefits of thicker thermal insulation, efficient heat insulation and heat insulation applications."Advertisement
