Tekirdağ Contributes $287 Million to the Economy

Turkey's Statistics Institute released a report on "Foreign Trade Statistics of Edirne, Tekirdağ, and Kırklareli Provinces, June 2022" using data from the June 2022 Foreign Trade Statistics. According to the published report, Tekirdağ ranked first in Thrace by exports and 14th in Turkey. According to the published report, exports from Edirne in June 2022 amounted to USD 6.8 million. Exports from Tekirdağ reached USD 287.2 million, while Kırklareli's exports stood at USD 30.1 million. Accordingly, Tekirdağ was identified as the province with the highest exports in Thrace. Based on provisional foreign trade data produced within the framework of the general trade system through cooperation between the Turkey's Statistics Institute and the Ministry of Commerce, exports in June 2022 increased 18.7% compared to the same month of the previous year to USD 23 billion 428 million, while imports rose 39.7% to USD 31 billion 595 million.

Exports increased 16.1% compared to the previous year

Tekirdağ increased its exports by 16.1% compared to the previous year, exporting products valued at USD 287 million 228 thousand, contributing to the Turkish economy. Additionally, Tekirdağ increased its imports by 25.6% compared to the previous year, importing products valued at USD 267 million 635 thousand, thus contributing to both production and employment. Kırklareli, with an increase of 23.4% compared to the previous year, exported USD 30 million 96 thousand in value and ranked second among the provinces with the highest exports in Thrace. Furthermore, ranking 39th in Turkey, Kırklareli imported USD 18 million 609 thousand in value, representing a 12.6% increase compared to the previous year. Edirne increased its exports by 4.5%, exporting USD 6 million 776 thousand in value and ranking third in Thrace. Ranking 62nd in Turkey by exports, Edirne reduced its imports by 14.9% compared to the previous year, importing USD 13 million 354 thousand in value and ranking 42nd in Turkey. Edirne exported USD 1 million 252 thousand in value to Bulgaria, while importing USD 10 million 393 thousand from Ukraine. Exporting USD 527 thousand 639 in products to Germany, Edirne imported USD 796 thousand 704 in value from the United Kingdom. Conducting exports valued at USD 527 thousand 30 with Greece, Edirne imported USD 491 thousand 577 in value from Russia. In June 2022, Kırklareli conducted exports exceeding USD 5 million 355 thousand with Venezuela, while importing USD 6 million 213 thousand in value from Germany. Exporting USD 3 million 146 thousand in goods to Germany, Kırklareli imported USD 2 million 318 thousand in value from Russia. Exporting USD 2 million 214 thousand in value to Benin, Kırklareli imported USD 2 million 214 thousand in value from China. In June 2022, Tekirdağ conducted exports exceeding USD 46 million 318 thousand with Germany, while importing USD 50 million 966 thousand in value from China. Exporting USD 30 million 346 thousand in goods to Italy, Tekirdağ imported USD 27 million 44 thousand in value from Portugal. Conducting bilateral trade with Germany, Tekirdağ, in addition to products exported to Germany, also imported USD 20 million 70 thousand in value. Conducting exports to Romania, Tekirdağ added value to the economy with exports valued at USD 15 million 967 thousand.
