SANKO Leaves Its Mark on Capital 500

Economy Magazine Capital's "Anadolu 500" research revealing Turkey's largest private sector companies has concluded. SANKO has 6 companies on the list. In Capital Magazine's assessment of the research conducted based on companies' 2021 turnover, it was noted that firms with turnover of TRY 1,675,491,016 and above were able to enter the list this year. On the list where 25 companies from Gaziantep are represented, Sanko Tekstil İşletmeleri ranked 163rd, Sanko Dış Ticaret 271st, Çimko Çimento ve Beton 360th, Süper Film Ambalaj 390th, Sanko Enerji 456th and Sanko Pazarlama 468th. Compared to the previous year, Sanko Tekstil İşletmeleri rose 41 places, Çimko Çimento ve Beton 78 places, Süper Film Ambalaj 12 places, while Sanko Pazarlama did not enter Capital's Anadolu 500 in 2020.

According to research conducted by Istanbul Chamber of Industry (İSO) based on 2021 net sales from production, SANKO Holding companies Sanko Tekstil İşletmeleri ranked 92nd, Çimko Çimento ve Beton 198th, Süper Film Ambalaj 216th, Sanko Enerji 302nd.

On the list of Turkey's top 1000 exporters for 2021 based on data compiled by Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), Sanko Dış Ticaret ranked 67th and Sanko Tekstil İşletmeleri 935th.       About Over a journey spanning more than 100 years from 1904 to present day, it has been one of the pioneers of Anatolian industrialisation. SANKO's foundations were laid five generations ago in 1904 with looms established by founder Sani Bey. His son Zekeriye Bey took over the modest weaving business in 1926. Zekeriye Bey passed on the developed business to his son Sani Konukoğlu in 1943. With his vision and ambitious goals, Sani Konukoğlu succeeded in transforming the company into a group of companies providing products and services on a global scale. A 24-spindle domestic bobbin machine was manufactured in Istanbul in 1947; a sizing machine was installed in 1951. In 1953, European weaving looms similar to those producing 4-shuttle checked shirting were procured, and the conversion of hand looms to motorised looms in Gaziantep was pioneered. Towel production began in 1955, a hydrophilic cotton facility was established in 1962. A cotton yarn facility with 1,500 spindle capacity was set up in 1963, Hilal Kollektif Şirketi was founded in 1966, and in 1974 a 20,000 spindle yarn facility was established, raising spindle capacity to 30,000. Hilal Kollektif Şirketi's name was changed in 1977 to Sanko Tekstil Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim Şirketi, inspired by Sani Konukoğlu's name. With its production capacity and product diversity, Sanko Tekstil is the largest in Turkey and ranks among the world's leading yarn producers. It extended this success to other textile sectors. With its knitting facilities, it possesses one of Europe's largest production capacities. ISKO Tekstil Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. was established in 1983. Today, ISKO with an annual production capacity of 300 million metres is one of the world's leading denim content producers. Asko Tekstil Sanayi Ticaret ve Pazarlama A.Ş. was founded in 1985; in 1987 production with knot-free bobbin machines began in Turkey for the first time. In 1989, Sani Konukoğlu Foundation was established to give corporate dimension to social responsibility projects and contribute to social solidarity. Sanko Pazarlama İthalat, İhracat A.Ş. was established in 1992, and in 1993 Süper Film Ambalaj Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. was founded in consideration of the development of the packaging sector.
