Exports Rose 19.8% in March

March Exports Rise 19.8% According to provisional export data, exports in March 2022 increased 19.8% and reached USD 22 billion 709 million. Imports in March 2022 rose 30.7% to USD 30 billion 878 million. Provisional foreign trade data generated under the general trade system, created through cooperation between the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) and the Ministry of Commerce, have been released. According to the released data, exports in March 2022 increased 19.8% and imports rose 30.7% compared to March of the previous year.  
January-March 2022 Exports Reached USD 60 Billion 201 Million
According to the released data, exports in the January-March period of 2022 increased 20.6% compared to the same period of the previous year and reached USD 60 billion 201 million. Imports in the January-March period rose 42.0% year-on-year and reached USD 86 billion 607 million. According to the released data, exports excluding energy products and gold reached USD 21 billion 202 million in March 2022. In the same period of the previous year, exports excluding energy products and gold were USD 17 billion 959 million, representing a 20.6% increase this year.
Manufacturing Industry's Share in Exports at 94.9%
In March 2022, the manufacturing industry's share in exports was 94.9%. Looking at other sectors: agriculture, forestry and fishing accounted for 3.1%, while mining and quarrying accounted for 1.5%.
Largest Exports at USD 1 Billion 907 Million to Germany
According to the data, Germany was the country with the highest exports. Exports to Germany reached a total of USD 1 billion 907 million. Germany was followed by the United States with USD 1 billion 559 million, Italy with USD 1 billion 278 million, the United Kingdom with USD 1 billion 168 million, and Iraq with USD 1 billion 162 million. In imports, the Russian Federation ranked first with USD 12 billion 720 million. Russia was followed respectively by China with USD 3 billion 618 million, Germany with USD 2 billion 240 million, the United States with USD 1 billion 325 million, and Italy with USD 1 billion 183 million.
