Konya's Exports Reach $2.429 Billion

Exports from Konya Reach USD 2.429 Billion Konya increased its exports by 11 percent during the January-September period of this year, achieving exports exceeding USD 2 billion 429 million. Evaluating the export figures, KSO Chairman Memiş Kütükcü stated that Konya achieved the highest exports in its history on a seasonal basis, congratulating all industrialists and workers.

Konya Chamber of Industry Chairman Memiş Kütükcü evaluated the September export figures announced by Turkey's Exporters Assembly.

"Our Konya industrialists are maintaining the upward momentum they have gained in exports. Our industrialists increased their exports by 15.5 percent in September and by 11 percent in the January-September period. Thus, in the first 9 months covering the January-September period of this year, we achieved exports of USD 2 billion 429 million 126 thousand. With this figure, our city has reached the highest 9-month export record in its history on a seasonal basis. I congratulate all our industrialists and workers" he stated.

Chairman Kütükcü said that machinery and components as well as the automotive sector were the leading sectors contributing most to the city's exports. Kütükcü shared the following information regarding the sectors from which Konya exports the most:

"The machinery and components sector ranks first in our city's exports with USD 581 million 928 thousand, while the automotive industry ranks second with USD 527 million 285 thousand, the ferrous and non-ferrous metals sector ranks third with USD 216 million 419 thousand, and the cereals, legumes, oilseeds and products sector ranks fourth with USD 200 million 39 thousand" he noted. Konya Chamber of Industry continues its efforts without interruption to increase the city's foreign trade and create new markets, said Chairman Kütükcü, stating: "As a chamber, we conduct various activities to increase our city's foreign trade volume. In this context, through the organizations we arrange, we enable our industrialists to participate in domestic and international trade fair organizations and conduct bilateral business meetings (B2B) in these venues. Most recently, we enabled our industrialists to participate in the Automechanika 2022 Fair held in Germany, where very productive meetings took place. Similarly, at our 6th International Automotive Sector Future (OSEG) Conference held on 26-27 September, our industrialists conducted 322 bilateral business meetings with company representatives from 14 firms coming from 9 countries. We believe that these bilateral meetings will have a positive impact on our trade in the coming periods" he expressed.
