Konya Enters Turkey's Top 10 Exporting Cities in April
Konya's exports reached the highest growth rate in its history in April. In April, Konya increased its exports by 78.18 percent, reaching USD 279 million in exports. Continuing to rank among the top ten cities with the highest exports, Konya captured 1.63 percent of Turkey's total exports.
The Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) announced April and first four-month export figures. In April, Turkey's exports reached USD 18 billion 766 million, representing a 109 percent increase compared to the same month of the previous year. During the January-April period, exports reached USD 68 billion 752 million, showing a 33.1 percent increase compared to the first four months of 2020.
According to data released by TİM, Konya's April export figure stood at USD 279,392,189. Based on this figure, Konya ranked 10th among provinces, capturing 1.63 percent of Turkey's total exports in April. The first four-month export figure for 2021 reached USD 978,081,454. The first four-month 2021 figure showed a 45.87 percent increase compared to the first four months of 2020.
Konya Chamber of Commerce President Selçuk Öztürk, evaluating April export figures:
"Our exports, which reached USD 284 million in March, increased by 78 percent in April to reach USD 279 million. Our exports approaching USD 1 billion in the first four months demonstrate that we are progressing toward our targets. Our export growth continues to exceed the Turkey average in the first four months.
