Akçansa's Nine-Month Sales Reach TRY 15.6 Billion

Akçansa disclosed its financial results for the first 9 months of 2024. The company's sales reached TRY 15.6 billion in the period.

Akçansa, a joint venture of Sabancı Holding and Heidelberg Materials, announced its financial results for the first 9 months of 2024. According to the figures, the company's sales reached TRY 15.6 billion in the first 9 months of the year, while EBITDA came in at TRY 2.9 billion in the period.

Strong strides on the sustainability journey

Vecih Yılmaz, General Director of Akçansa, commented on the matter as follows: "We continued to work towards a sustainable future for our country with our strong operational activities during the first nine months of 2024. Our total cement and derivative sales volume showed a 2.5% increase compared to the same period last year. Similar to the second quarter of 2024, market dynamics, the positive trajectory in total sales volume and stability in energy prices continued to have positive effects on our financial results. In the first nine months of 2024, our net sales reached TRY 15.6 billion and EBITDA came in at TRY 2.9 billion."

Yılmaz stated that they continue their operations with the vision of becoming Turkey's most valued sustainable building materials company and aim to create the highest value for all stakeholders through partnerships they implement. He went on to say: "Within the scope of our circular economy approach, we have signed a partnership with ODAŞ to restore fly ashes from the company's Çan 2 Thermal Power Plant to the economy through circular processes.

This strategic partnership, covering the supply of approximately 2 million tons of fly ash, will also contribute to our climate change mitigation strategy. Taking an important step in water management, which is central to our sustainability approach, we had the honour of becoming the first Turkish cement company to sign the 'CEO Water Mandate' from the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) initiatives.

During this period, we also signed a valuable partnership that will expand our service portfolio on a global scale in our port operations business. Akçansa Port, our brand, reached an agreement with Grimaldi Group, one of the world's leading companies in the international Ro-Ro business, to provide international Ro-Ro services to the group. We are pleased to contribute to our country's exports with Ro-Ro voyages from our Ambarlı Port to Italy. On the other hand, we strive to provide sustainable contributions to human and community life.

Our STEM Workshops and STEM Talks activities, under the umbrella of Gönüllü Yolculuğum, our corporate social responsibility project, through which we support the futures of our children and young people, continue. We will continue to produce for a more sustainable future."
