Via Scientific, Inc., the developer of Via Foundry, a multi-omics platform that enables pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology firms and academic researchers to advance more rapidly in discovering new biological insights, announced approval of a USD 5 million fund led by G20 Ventures and Innospark Ventures. The new initiative includes prominent Life Sciences and Artificial Intelligence angel investors such as Melissa J. Moore, former Chief Scientific Officer of Moderna, Rob Hickey, former Executive Vice President of DataRobot, and Janet Kosloff, Founder and former Chief Executive Officer of InCrowd, Inc. Unlocking next-generation life sciences innovation will depend on researchers' ability not only to uncover new data, but also to identify patterns at the intersection of multiple "omics" disciplines (e.g., genomics, proteomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics, etc.) and patterns at the intersection of real-world evidence (e.g., phenotypes, clinical data, etc.). Originally developed at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School Bioinformatics Core, Via Scientific's revolutionary multi-omics platform leverages artificial intelligence to analyze large-scale, complex and dynamic biological data to enable researchers to examine life in a coherent manner—discovering new relationships between biological entities, identifying relevant biomarkers and pathways, and characterizing disease and physiology signatures.
