Univar Solutions and BASF Expand Distribution Agreement

Univar Solutions USA LLC, a leading global solution provider for specialty chemicals and ingredients, along with its Canadian subsidiary Univar Solutions Canada Ltd. (Ingredients + Specialties division of Univar Solutions), announced its appointment as exclusive distributor of selected BASF specialty ingredients for industrial applications in the United States and Canada.

The expanded collaboration between the two companies aims to provide customers with a significant advantage by offering comprehensive access to a portfolio of key ingredients: Capromer™, 1,6-Hexanediol (HDO®) (in molten and flake forms), and epsilon-caprolactone. These ingredients are used in various industrial and manufacturing applications, including polymers, plastics, coatings, and adhesives.

Capromer, HDO, and epsilon-caprolactone compounds are frequently selected by formulators as starting materials and building blocks in the development of high-performance coatings, plastics, textile fibers, and other industrial products. These compounds are recognized as versatile chemicals that provide durability, flexibility, and weather resistance. HDO is used in the production of industrial coatings, polyurethanes, and adhesives, including formulations with low volatile organic compound (VOC) content. Additionally, it is present in epoxy system formulations used in the production of rotor blades for wind turbines and structural components utilized in automotive lightweight structures.
