New-Generation Technology from Niutech for Recovery of Titanium-Iron Waste

The titanium-iron tailings reduction and enrichment technology and equipment system developed by Niutech have been recognized as being at the level of international advanced technology following an evaluation conducted by a professional national organization.
A demonstration project based on technology targeting sustainable recovery of strategic mineral resources is being implemented in Linyi, a city in China's Shandong Province. The project, planned to have an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons of high-grade titanium-rich enriched material, aims to become one of Asia's significant applications in the green recovery of strategic mineral resources upon completion.
Green Recovery Through Low-Temperature Pyrolysis
The new equipment system developed by Niutech has been designed in line with targets for safety, environmental protection, low carbon emissions and high efficiency. The system combines Niutech's low-temperature pyrolysis and in-situ reduction technologies, delivering innovative solutions in areas such as reduction temperature control, waste heat recovery and intelligent system management.
The company notes that traditional electric furnace melting methods require high temperatures and energy consumption, while some hydrometallurgical methods present various challenges due to complex process structures and environmental impacts.
Niutech's new technology, through its innovative approach drawing from different disciplines, operates at lower reaction temperatures, aiming to both revalue waste materials and reduce carbon emissions.
Integrated System Generating Resources from Waste
The developed solution uses waste plastics and other organic waste as reducing agents. Through low-temperature pyrolysis, the system generates reduction gas and accomplishes the in-situ reduction of titanium-iron tailings within a single integrated process.
According to Niutech, the technology's key advantages are as follows:
Low-temperature continuous reduction: An industrial-scale production process controlled between 550-600°C and operating below 700°C,
High energy efficiency: Waste heat utilization rate above 93 percent, total energy consumption more than 36 percent lower compared to conventional methods, and approximately 40 percent lower CO₂ emissions per product,
Intelligent and safe operation: Automation infrastructure supported by coordinated temperature control, dynamic sealing technology and an intelligent control platform.

Niutech states that its new technology will contribute to more efficient use of strategic mineral resources and play an important role in converting mining waste into economic value.
This approach, enabling recovery of titanium-iron tailings through low-carbon methods, is among next-generation solutions developed in line with targets for resource efficiency, circular economy and sustainable industrial production.
