APS Elastomers Introduces New TPU for Pneumatic Tubing

According to APS Elastomers, high-performance pneumatic hoses and brake hydraulic tubing can be easily manufactured using the new thermoplastic polyurethane Zythane 7045D it has introduced. The new polyurethane is said to be resistant to abrasion, tearing, cutting and puncture, with high burst pressure, high elasticity and yarn retention properties, long-term flexibility, oil, petrol and microbial resistance, low-temperature flexibility and hydraulic stability. Additionally, the material is said to offer puncture and abrasion resistance alongside surprisingly high burst pressure that provides high-grade elasticity for circulation resistance and wrapping ease. Zythane 7045D is a polyether-based TPU specially formulated for extrusion applications that can be easily processed without gels. The company states that this product offers excellent abrasion resistance and hardness, and has good hydraulic stability, oil, petrol and solvent resistance. The product is supplied in clear pellet form. In addition to pneumatic tubing, Zythane 7045D applications include FDA applications; cable insulation, spiral hose systems, film, irrigation hoses, conveyor hoses, fire hoses, hydraulic hoses, cable sheaths, flat flexible cables and automotive sensor cables. Polyether-based grades of Zythane TPU offer more advanced microbial resistance, better resistance to weak acids/bases and moisture/humidity, and lower service pressures. APS Elastomers states that Zythane TPU is an excellent choice for hose and tube internal applications thanks to its durable properties.
