3M to Expand Operations

3M to invest approximately USD 470 million and add around 600 new employees to its Clinton, Tenn. facility by 2025. As part of the expansion, 3M announced plans to invest in two rapidly growing product categories: Filtrete™ air filters and Command™ brand adhesive tapes. The additional investments and new personnel will help increase capacity and reduce production cycle time to better respond to rising consumer demand. The investment will also enhance sustainability by replacing plastic packaging with more renewable packaging such as cardboard. President and CEO Mike Roman stated, "The talented people in East Tennessee, the state government's partnership, and the flexibility of our manufacturing facility create an ideal environment for additional investment in Clinton. The ongoing demand for innovative new 3M products, particularly for home improvement, makes us optimistic about our growth in Clinton."   Source
