THE BALD DIVA // 15-16-17 JANUARY // TURKCELL PLATINUM STAGE // 20.30
A drawing room of an English bourgeois family, furnished with English armchairs. An English evening. In the midst of ruin, Mr. and Mrs. Smith will receive Mr. and Mrs. Martin in their home with the last scraps of Englishness left in their hands. But what is the Fire Chief doing standing on Maid Mary's stool when there is not even the slightest spark of fire in the house? If they are around London, what is it that drives us mad? This alienation, what? The diva is actually bald, our reality, what time will it come? Whose interest is it to maintain this confusion? Let's not try to know. Let's leave everything as it is. (or not?) From the exceptional pen of Eugène Ionesco, this play, in which abstraction and absurdism are blended flawlessly, comes to Zorlu PSM as "The Bald Diva" throughout the season.

RICHARD // 17 JANUARY // TURKCELL STAGE // 20.30
The year is 2012. The bones of King Richard III are found in a car park in Leicester. It will take a long time for forensic experts to examine and verify the bones. Around the same time, a small theatre in London, which mostly produces unconventional art productions, will stage Richard III upon request. Meanwhile, there is an identity-less criminal man who has sought refuge in the theatre and is being pursued by the police. The "Richard" who took refuge in the theatre first takes on the role of Richard in the play, then oversees putting the play on stage. Due to his "broken structure," he is opposed to the existing order, against the state and the theatre's structure. While gaining the support of tolerant and democratic artists on one hand, he disrupts the structure in the theatre on the other hand, coming into conflict with every institutional ethic and hierarchy of art, producing an unprecedented Richard production. Drawing inspiration from Drag Queen shows and fashion shows, he places non-actors in the play, destroying everything material and spiritual from the theatre's roof to people's private lives. The theatre is shaken by a catastrophe. Meanwhile, the Kingdom prepares for King Richard III's funeral ceremony. Okan Bayülgen looks at Shakespeare's Richard from the first quarter of this new century. Addressing it with the approaches of modern philosophers, he opens Shakespeare's historicization of Richard's reality to debate. While discussing estrangement, isolation, and savagery, an imaginary theatre company performs Shakespeare's Richard III again.

TERRORISM // 21 JANUARY // TURKCELL PLATINUM STAGE // 19.30
The play Terrorism depicts people filled with anxiety and resentment. The play begins with a bomb alarm at an airport. This is followed by a suicide and an explosion in the heart of the city. Already troubled people struggling with meaninglessness, inadequacy, and callousness become producers of violence themselves when enveloped by this violence at the social level. This situation progresses in a spiral. We believe that the play Terrorism, written by Russian authors the Presnyakov Brothers in 2000, is extremely topical in today's Turkey—unfortunately so.
