Istanbul Fringe Festival to Showcase the Pulse of Art

Fringe will host 20 teams from Turkey and around the world between 18 – 22 September, presenting alternative works in theatre, dance and performance disciplines across 12 different art venues for the first time in Istanbul. The festival first began in 1947 with 8 guest teams. Bringing together diversity and originality with the city's dynamics and multicultural character, Istanbul Fringe Festival is assembling 20 teams from Turkey and worldwide in its inaugural year with an interdisciplinary programme, following the model of other Fringe festivals globally. As part of the International Fringe Community, Istanbul Fringe Festival's first edition will feature teams from Italy, Hungary, Greece, Belgium, Taiwan, France, Poland, the United States, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Iran and Turkey. The programme includes theatre, dance and performance shows, along with workshops and parties hosted by both local and international teams. Istanbul Fringe Festival invites participants seeking the new and dynamic through culture and art to a creative atmosphere. Tickets will go on sale starting 25 June at tiyatrolar.com.tr. The festival will span both sides of the city over 5 days, with the following supporting venues: Akbank Sanat, Anahit Sahne, Beykoz Kundura, Boa Sahne, Caddebostan Kültür Merkezi, Craft Tiyatro, DasDas, Feriye, Iparho, Kumbaracı 50, Mecra, Mimar Sinan Güzel Sanatlar Üniversitesi Bomonti Kampüsü, Moda Sahnesi, NoAct Sahne, Sakıp Sabancı Müzesi and Tuhafier.

Festival Volunteers Needed

Istanbul Fringe, taking place 18 – 22 September, is inviting volunteers to work alongside the festival throughout its duration.
