Pink Handbag, on Çağla Şıkel

The "Pink Ball on the Field" project, carried out in collaboration between Anadolu Health Center Hospital and Anadolu Efes Sports Club, calls on women to take action for their health. In its 11th year, the Pink Ball—which has become a symbol of early detection in breast cancer—has been entrusted to Çağla Şıkel. Şıkel will be on the field at the Anadolu Efes SK – Olympiacos match on 18 October 2024 at 20:30 to deliver the life-saving early detection message. The Pink Ball will take flight from Şıkel's hands.

The Pink Ball on the Field project, launched by Anadolu Health Center Hospital and Anadolu Efes Sports Club to raise awareness of the life-saving importance of early detection in breast cancer, is now in its 11th year. Aimed at creating public awareness regarding breast cancer, which occurs in one in eight women, the Pink Ball on the Field project's volunteer supporter for this year is Çağla Şıkel. 

Çağla Şıkel will open the Anadolu Efes SK – Olympiacos match on Friday, 18 October 2024 at 20:30 at the Basketball Development Centre with a tip-off using the Pink Ball.

Neglecting health means neglecting life

Emphasizing that early detection is the key to treating all types of disease, Çağla Şıkel said: "Over the years, in the programmes I have hosted, I have welcomed countless physicians and experts. The most important thing I learned from our esteemed doctors was that we need to listen to our bodies and be vigilant about our health. I am pleased to be able to take this issue, which I have tried to advocate for on screen, a step further through the Pink Ball on the Field project." Şıkel continued: "During October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I will make calls on this issue and remind my sisters at every opportunity. I will emphasise at every opportunity that when we neglect our health, we are actually neglecting life and those we love."
