Opus 2 – 20 June, 21:00
Debussy Quartet, driven by a passion for creating its own voice while avoiding the ordinary, ranks among today's most compelling ensembles through its distinctive interpretations and award-winning recordings. The French quartet, winner of the International Evian String Quartet Competition, performs concerts across Asia, Europe and North America, bringing fresh vitality to classical music through innovative performances.
The ensemble, whose extensive discography was crowned by the Le Monde de la Musique Choc Award, collaborates on this project with Circa, which approaches circus arts from a new perspective.
Under the direction of Yaron Lifschitz, the Australian ensemble has captivated audiences across six continents and 34 countries with performances that dissolve the boundaries between dance, theatre and circus.
Following the successful completion of the Opus project's North American tour, Debussy Quartet and Circa reunite with their developed Opus 2 to continue defying gravity and exploring the body's expression of music.
The string quartets of Shostakovich, known for the density of both ideological and biographical messages, will be performed by Debussy Quartet members sometimes barefoot, sometimes blindfolded, amid magnificent acrobatics. The performance takes place at Zorlu PSM.
