Hurts Concert on 10 February 2018 - Zorlu PSM

English synthpop duo Hurts, known for their emotional interpretations of electronic music and hits including "Wonderful Life" and "Stay" that have captured the hearts of millions, will perform at Zorlu PSM on 10 February! The synthpop duo Hurts, formed by Adam Anderson and Theo Hutchcraft in Manchester in 2009, draws inspiration from 70s Krautrock, 80s new wave and 90s R&B. The pair, who met in 2005, worked on different projects before taking the name Hurts. After adopting the Hurts moniker, they developed a modern, melancholic and emotional tone more suited to synthpop compared to their earlier work. Working with Swedish producer Jonas Quant over the Internet, Hurts recorded three tracks: "Wonderful Life", "Evelyn" and "Unspoken". In June 2009, the black-and-white video for Hurts' "Wonderful Life", featuring sharp lines, went viral and the duo joined Major Label record company in July.

Throughout 2009 and 2010, the group significantly expanded their fanbase through tracks released on Myspace and videos for "Blood, Tears & Gold" and "Better Than Love".

They also featured Kylie Minogue vocals on their song "Devotion". Hurts released their debut album "Happiness" in 2010, selling more than 25,000 copies in its first week, earning the title of fastest-selling album that year and making a rapid entry into UK music charts. In December 2012, following their tradition of releasing attention-grabbing cool videos, Hurts released a feature-length promotional video for "The Road", a song inspired by a novel by Cormac McCarthy. Hurts released their second album Exile in 2013. With producers Quant and Dan Grech-Marguerat alongside Hutchcraft and Anderson, the album has a more nuanced, contemporary tone and, despite incorporating orchestral and rock instrumentation, successfully maintains the New Wave and Krautrock influences characteristic of Hurts. In 2015, Hurts released their third studio album Surrender with producers Quant, Stuart Price (Madonna, Killers) and Ariel Rechtshaid (HAIM, Vampire Weekend) in the producer role. Hurts released their new album "Desire" last September. Described by Hutchcraft as a highly personal pop album, Desire is shaped around themes of passion, pain and desire.
