Borusan Sanat's November Program Packed with Events

Borusan Sanat has prepared a full programme for November. On Thursday, 2 November, BİFO will perform one of the masterpieces of Turkey's polyphonic music history, Ahmed Adnan Saygun's Yunus Emre Oratorio. Borusan Müzik Evi opens its new season on 9 November with ensemble XXI. jahrhundert, one of contemporary music's important advocates and interpreters, while on 16 November BİFO will meet its audience in a special programme featuring works by Mozart, Verdi, Rossini and Respighi. The concert, taking place on Thursday, 2 November at 20:00 at Zorlu PSM Turkcell Stage, will see BİFO under the baton of Chief Conductor Gürer Aykal perform one of the masterpieces of Turkey's polyphonic music history, Ahmed Adnan Saygun's Yunus Emre Oratorio. The soloists for the evening, on which BİFO will share the stage with Magma Filarmoni Chorus under the direction of Masis Aram Gözbek, will be powerful voices from the State Opera and Ballet: soprano Hale Soner, mezzo-soprano Nesrin Gönüldağ, tenor Ayhan Uştuk and bass Tuncay Kurtoğlu. Before the concert, Aydın Büke will conduct an engaging discussion about the concert in the Plaza Foyer at Zorlu PSM between 19:00-19:30.

Season opens at Borusan Müzik Evi

Borusan Müzik Evi opens its new season with one of contemporary music's important advocates and interpreters. ensemble XXI. jahrhundert (EXXI), a group of soloists representing the high technical standard and sound quality characteristic of Viennese musical culture, which Ernst Krenek said is "as much a great pleasure to hear together as to hear each one separately," is the new season's first guest at Borusan Müzik Evi. With Turkey premieres of works commissioned from them by Onur Türkmen and Petra Stump-Linshalm, EXXI will perform on 9 November at 21:00 at Borusan Müzik Evi.

Opera overtures and arias with the magnificent harmony of soprano and orchestra come together on Thursday, 16 November at 20:00 at Zorlu PSM Turkcell Stage. BİFO will present a programme consisting of works by Mozart, Verdi, Rossini and Respighi at this concert. Fatma Said, who at just 14 years old travelled from her birthplace Cairo to Milan and to the La Scala Theatre academy, and who was selected as one of BBC Radio 3's new generation artists, will meet BİFO's audience under the direction of Carlo Tenan as the soloist for this evening. Before the concert, Aydın Büke and Serhan Bali will conduct an engaging discussion about the concert in the Plaza Foyer at Zorlu PSM between 19:00-19:30.
