"Love Empowers" Project from Avon

Avon, one of the world's and Turkey's leading personal care and cosmetics brands, continues its work to raise awareness against violence towards women. Through the project implemented under the "16 Days of Activism" initiative, the goal is to draw attention to early warning signs of violence and build public awareness. At the same time, the aim is to provide guidance to women who have experienced violence on how and where they can seek help.
Drawing on its long-standing legacy in combating gender-based violence, Avon continues to develop innovative projects to improve women's lives. Implemented under the "16 Days of Activism" campaign, which runs from 25 November International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women to 10 December Human Rights Day, the Love Gives Strength project emphasizes that violence is not only physical and often begins with subtle early warning signs that may not be easily recognized. It draws attention to the fact that these signs should not be normalized under the guise of "love" and aims to create public awareness on this issue.
Research by the United Nations shows that one in three women worldwide experiences violence in her lifetime and approximately one in four young women aged 15-19 experiences violence from a boyfriend or spouse.* To raise awareness of this reality, Avon prepared the Love Gives Strength project in collaboration with experts on the subject and civil society organizations worldwide. The project aims to provide guidance on how and where women can safely seek support by emphasizing the early warning signs of violence. Through a film that is part of the project, awareness is raised about the early warning signs of intimate partner violence.
"Together We Can Make a Difference"
Avon Turkey General Manager Hasan Ulutürk stated that the proceeds from selected Avon products will be donated to the Turkish Women's Associations Federation (TKDF), saying:
"As Avon, through our global programs and partnerships, we have supported more than 15 million women worldwide to date and have donated more than 91 million dollars. The Love Gives Strength project aims to raise awareness about intimate partner violence. Violence does not always manifest in an obviously visible way; it often begins with small and subtle signs and grows over time. It must not be forgotten that violence is not only physical; it can also leave deep marks on our lives through its emotional and psychological dimensions.
During this 16-day period, which runs from 25 November International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women to 10 December Human Rights Day, we raise our voices together to put an end to violence against women. Because we know that together we can make a difference."
