Time to Cycle for Health in Ankara

The third edition of the International Granfondo series, one of Turkey's largest amateur road cycling races, will draw significant attention in Ankara this year as well.

The event, which will take place on 25 August Sunday, will bring together approximately 1,500 athletes from 34 countries and 46 different cities across Turkey. Cycling enthusiasts are joining forces for this important race, which will be organized under the coordination of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ankara Governorship, Turkish Cycling Federation and Ankara Metropolitan Municipality. Bilkent Center will host the event.

Granfondo races are known worldwide as important events held in major metropolitan areas that bring fresh momentum to cycling sport. This race, being held for the third time in Ankara, will prioritize sustainability as a theme alongside sports and health emphasis. Participants will pedal on two different routes—short and long. Several roads in Ankara will be closed to traffic as part of the event. The race route and roads to be closed to traffic include Bilkent Center, Angora Boulevard, Sakıp Sabancı Boulevard, Anadolu Boulevard, Turgut Özal Boulevard and other main arteries.
