Flux - 31 January - 26 April 2020

Sakıp Sabancı Müzesi (SSM), in collaboration with Akbank Sanat and Marina Abramović Institute (MAI), presents the Flux exhibition, which offers a comprehensive overview of works produced by Abramović and represents the largest project dedicated to performance art in Istanbul to date.   Within the framework of the Akbank Sanat program, the Flux exhibition will feature a series of documentation exhibitions presented by Marina Abramović Institute (MAI) and a film screening program focusing on Abramović's work. The exhibition addresses the recent past and history of performance art and focuses on the legacy that shapes contemporary practice. The four thematic documentation exhibitions aim to introduce performance art to audiences who may be unfamiliar with the discipline and to contribute to current local dialogue in this field.

Performance Documentation Program (Gallery)

Through a series of documentation exhibitions based on the themes of Energy, Memory, Boundaries, and Private/Public, presented by MAI, the aim is to develop an understanding of performance art and provide another context for the Abramović exhibition at Sakıp Sabancı Müzesi and for performances realized by artists from Turkey and the international arena. These documentation exhibitions, organized under four separate themes, will take place between 31 January and 25 April.
