PPG adds two new adhesives to its product portfolio
PPG launches two new adhesives delivering performance and sustainability benefits to OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations) customers.
PPG announced the addition of PPG PR-2940™, an epoxy syntactic paste adhesive (ESPA) for use in aircraft interiors, and PPG PR-2936™, an adhesive combining shim and sealant properties to bond aircraft external skins to internal structures, to its aerospace and space portfolio.

They will deliver significant performance advantages to our aerospace and space customers, as well as sustainability benefits through weight reduction."
PPG PR-2940 ESPA adhesive is a lightweight casting component used in secondary aircraft structures by both original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) customers. This adhesive fills and reinforces honeycomb structures used to produce aircraft interior components including inner wing structures, galleys, lavatories, overhead bins and flooring.
PPG PR-2936 adhesive is used by OEMs to bond an aircraft's metallic or composite skin to the internal structures of the fuselage, tail assembly, wings and stabilizers. This epoxy-based adhesive, which cures at ambient temperatures, is designed to fill gaps or irregularities between primary and secondary structure surfaces. PPG PR-2936 combines superior mechanical strength with flexibility and micro-crack resistance across a wide working temperature window.
