Mule-Hide Products Co. Introduces Detec TruGround® Conductive Primer
Mule-Hide Products Co.'s new Detec TruGround® Conductive Primer makes effective electronic leak detection (ELD) on traditional roof assemblies fast and easy, helping ensure that a roof system is waterproof and free of cracks, holes and seam gaps.
The patented water-based, liquid-applied, electronically conductive medium is applied directly to the substrate using a brush or roller before membrane adhesion. Discontinuities in the membrane can be located by applying an electrical current to the membrane's surface. Once applied, the primer allows ELD testing using low or high voltage test methods throughout the life of the roof system.
Detec TruGround Conductive Primer provides peace of mind that a newly installed roof coating system is watertight and can be used for maintenance, warranty and legal purposes. Compatible with all single-ply membranes and listed in more than 10,200 Mule-Hide Products Co. Factory Mutual (FM) RoofNav assemblies.
Can be applied to any properly prepared, non-conductive horizontal or vertical surface, including insulation, plywood, wood, lightweight concrete and roof board. Suitable for use in fully adhered, mechanically attached and ballasted roof coating systems.
The primer dries quickly — typically in less than 30 minutes — and provides excellent adhesion. Contractor-friendly, it has low volatile organic compound (VOC) content, is non-flammable and solvent-free. Detec TruGround Conductive Primer is available in 5-gallon buckets. Each bucket covers approximately 1,250 square feet of roof area.
