LANXESS Recommends Trixene® Aqua BI
LANXESS Trixene® Aqua BI Recommendation - Water-Dispersible Blocked Polyisocyanates for Coatings and Adhesives
The Trixene® Aqua series is used as a crosslinker and adhesion performance enhancer in industrial coatings and finishes.
Trixene® Aqua grades offer a broad pH range encompassing anionic, noniionic and cationic types with good formulation compatibility. They are used in coatings and topcoats for flexible and rigid surfaces.
Enhanced Coating Performance and Protection
• Increases surface and interlayer adhesion performance. • Improves chemical, impact and abrasion resistance. • Provides durability against weather conditions.Formulation Benefits
• Applicable by, for example, spraying, dipping, roll/knife/curtain coating, brushing. • Heat cure for controlled reactivity (no free isocyanate groups). Trixene® Aqua serves as a crosslinker and bonding agent for various flexible and rigid surfaces.Fiber Sizing
With Trixene® Aqua crosslinkers used in glass fiber sizing, • Improve strand integrity and reduce fuzz formation. • Increase compatibility with a resin matrix (e.g. in resins such as PA, PES, epoxy). • Achieve maximum efficiency with Lanxess Witcobond® Pud products. • Enhance higher glass/polymer matrix interaction and strength. • Provide improved bond strength between reinforcement and polymer. • Reduce solid residue formation in the process. • Provide higher elasticity, impact and tensile strength.Textile and Fabric
• Trixene® Aqua provides highly flexible coatings. It offers various deblocking temperatures for textile and fabric coatings. • In oven coatings for fiber impregnation, it improves adhesion and increases tensile strength under severe conditions. Provides wash resistance. • Trixene® Aqua blocked crosslinkers improve the adhesion of fluorochemicals and other aqueous finishes to natural and synthetic fabrics. Adhesion enhancer for aqueous fluorocarbon-based water repellents. • Eliminates C8-based (PFOA & PFOS) 2K, solvent-applied finishes. • Enables transition to "safer" C6 and C4 chemistry-based aqueous fluorochemicals. • Allows formulation of 1K, low or zero VOC content, hidden-cured C6/C4 systems. • Nonionic grades, such as Trixene Aqua BI 220, provide a broad pH/formulation range. • Apply to the base layer (e.g. woven polyamide, polyester) by padding or roll. • Dry and cure at high temperatures (~150°C, 3-5 minutes) to achieve finish. • Imparts superior water and oil repellency, improved durability, dry cleaning resistance.Coatings
• Increases adhesion to the base layer and successive coats. • Increases impact, scratch and chemical resistance on the coating surface. • Imparts excellent color retention properties. Ece Okçu C.A.S.E PU Sales Manager KimselAdvertisement
