Huntsman opens new innovation center in Belgium
Innovation centre to support implementation of Huntsman technologies in key markets.Huntsman Corporation officially inaugurated a new innovation centre in Tienen, Belgium, strengthening its research and development (R&D) capacity and reinforcing its commitment to customers in the region.
The 11,000-square-metre new facility comprises a global-scale analytical laboratory; two machine rooms and fully equipped and automated product testing facilities. These assets strengthen Huntsman's capacity to execute the complete innovation journey of products, from formulating ideas at laboratory scale to producing new systems and samples ready for customer trials.
The innovation centre is home to more than 100 scientists from the company's Polyurethane and Performance Products divisions. The centre will support the implementation of Huntsman technologies in key markets including adhesives, coatings and sealants; automotive; elastomers; energy; furniture/bedding and insulation.
At the inauguration event attended by more than 100 customers, suppliers, the Mayor of Tienen and business partners, Huntsman Board Chair and Chief Executive Officer Peter Huntsman and Huntsman Polyurethane Division President Tony Hankins delivered presentations. The event also included a facility tour, live R&D demonstrations and an official ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Huntsman stated: "Today marks a significant milestone as we formally open the doors to our new European innovation centre, a facility dedicated to creativity, collaboration and advancement. We already have a rich innovation legacy in Belgium. This centre reflects our continuing commitment to discovering new ideas and transforming creative concepts into practical solutions that can create positive impact around the world."
