New Adhesive for Paper Straws in India H.B. Fuller India has announced a new food-safe adhesive under its leading Swift®tak brand to meet growing demand for paper straws. Paper straws have presented a real challenge for both the industry and consumers, but the company's latest launch offers distinct advantages in terms of sustainability, safety and production efficiency. As more consumers adopt an "anti-single-use plastic" mindset and governments respond with a sense of urgency, paper straws are becoming an increasingly important alternative. As a result, the team in India has launched Swift®tak PS5600-I, a food-safe adhesive for the paper straw market. Local H.B. Fuller scientists provide advanced food-safe solutions with new water-based technology that creates durable paper straws that maintain straw integrity while a consumer enjoys a beverage and can withstand three hours in a wide variety of liquids including water, fruit juices, soft drinks and milk. Straws made with Swift®tak adhesives comply with FDA regulation 176.170.
