FLEXcon launches removable microsphere adhesive
Removable Microsphere Adhesive from FLEXcon
FLEXcon Company, Inc., an innovator in pressure-sensitive adhesive coatings and lamination, has announced the launch of FLEXcon® WALLdeco™ 6780, a white vinyl containing repositionable, removable adhesive with microspheres for short-term interior wall graphic applications.
Microsphere adhesive technology differs from standard pressure-sensitive adhesive technology because micron-sized spheres are embedded in a binder adhesive system that holds various randomly placed spheres together within the adhesive.
The binder ensures the spheres remain with the film carrier during application and removal. During application, the spheres activate and compress against the application surface. These spheres create an irregular topography in the coating. With each removal and reapplication to the wall surface, either existing spheres reactivate or new spheres activate through compression.
FLEXcon Product Manager Bekie Berg stated, "Microsphere adhesive technology allows graphics to be continuously reapplied and demonstrates stable peel and tack performance with each reuse. Graphics can be reused if properly stored."
WALLdeco™ 6780 is ideal for home decoration, retail point-of-purchase displays, interior wall decoration, signage and wall murals. Both the film and adhesive have been tested on flat painted drywall panels to ensure application success. The 6 mil vinyl provides the body required for easy installation and removal with fewer air bubbles for beginners, saving time, money and rework.
The film also offers high-level printability via UV and solvent screen, UV and solvent inkjet, and UV offset printing, and the flat backing provides ease of processing. WALLdeco™ 6780 is currently in inventory and ready for completion and shipment. It is available in 54" master and 54" x 150' pre-slit rolls. It can be cut and laminated according to converter specifications.
