BETA Kimya lays foundation for Middle East and Eastern Europe's largest adhesive and sealant production facility BETA Kimya A.Ş., one of Turkey's most established chemical companies, has laid the foundation for the Middle East and Eastern Europe's largest adhesive and sealant production facility. The foundation-laying ceremony for BETA Kimya GEBKİM Campus was attended by Turkey's Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank, Turkey's Minister of Trade Ruhsar Pekcan, TİM Chairman İsmail Gülle, BETA Kimya A.Ş. Board Chairman Adil Pelister and BETA Kimya A.Ş. General Manager Cihat Sayacı.

With an investment cost of TRY 315 million, BETA Kimya GEBKİM Campus is being prepared to serve as a production hub for domestically and nationally produced high-tech next-generation adhesives for the first time in the Turkish chemical sector, with an annual production capacity of 150,000 tonnes and will provide employment to 500 people.

BETA Kimya A.Ş.'s new integrated production facility BETA Kimya GEBKİM Campus, designed with infrastructure fully compatible with digital transformation in industry and green building technology with LEED certification, will offer 100 percent domestically and nationally produced innovative products for use in many strategic sectors such as automotive, defense and aviation.

Varank: "BETA Kimya's new production facility will bring fresh momentum to the chemical sector"

Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank,

at the foundation-laying ceremony of Beta Kimya GEBKİM Campus in the Gebze Chemicals Specialized Organized Industrial Zone (GEBKİM), said they were witnessing another exciting day for the real sector that continues uninterrupted even during the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Noting that they came together to lay the foundations of the Middle East and Eastern Europe's largest adhesive and sealant production facility, Varank said: "The Beta Kimya GEBKİM Campus, which will be realized with an investment of TRY 315 million, will create new employment opportunities for 500 of our citizens. Since the first day we came to the Ministry with the appreciation of our President, we have put forward a national technology and strong industry vision. At every step we take, we are concerned with developing new policies that will advance this vision further. We are trying to impose an approach on the real sector that encourages localization and directs our companies toward innovation. With BETA Kimya A.Ş.'s new integrated facility investment, polyurethane reactive hotmelt adhesive products and their various derivatives, which have been imported until now, will begin to be produced in Turkey for the first time. Thus, an important input for the packaging, automotive, furniture, construction, defense and aviation industries will be sourced domestically. In the medium term, imports worth 120 million dollars will be prevented. After domestic needs are met, export potential will of course be evaluated. When this factory goes into series production, it will be one of our country's most modern production facilities. I wish the BETA Kimya GEBKİM Campus investment, which will bring fresh momentum to our country's industry and chemical sector, all the best. I sincerely congratulate everyone who contributed to this investment, especially BETA Kimya's Board of Directors and İKMİB Chairman Adil Pelister." he said.

Pekcan: "Chemistry is a locomotive sector for Turkey"

Turkey's Minister of Trade Ruhsar Pekcan, participating via video conference at the Beta Kimya GEBKİM Campus Foundation-Laying Ceremony, said she was pleased to be at the foundation-laying ceremony of another investment of strategic importance to the country. Minister Pekcan said: "BETA Kimya A.Ş.'s new integrated production facility investment is truly very important for Turkey. Under the leadership of our President, with political stability and effective management system, we will take all necessary steps to bring our country together to the level of high-income countries through more technology, more high value-added production and exports. BETA Kimya GEBKİM Campus will create added value in products where Turkey has production gaps and imports, and will enable exports to new markets. It will provide domestic inputs to many sectors in our country such as automotive, construction and defense industries, and will create employment for 500 people. I congratulate the entire BETA Kimya family for these valuable investments and wish them well for our country." she said.
