AMICO Announces SPEED BEAD Launch
Alabama Metal Industries Corporation (AMICO) has announced the launch of a new SPEED BEAD featuring an integrated support rod, self-adhesive properties, weather resistance, and patent-pending design.
This highly innovative product eliminates caulking requirements in facade stone and stucco applications by creating a weather-resistant seal around windows, doors, and openings.
SPEED BEAD can save contractors up to 40 percent in labor costs per opening, in addition to reducing caulk tube consumption. The patent-pending design incorporates high-tech SPEED BOND adhesive specifically formulated to bond plastics in exterior applications experiencing extreme temperatures ranging from -40 to 212 degrees Fahrenheit. Similar materials are used in the automotive and aerospace industries where critical adhesion, thermal expansion, and superior weather resistance and waterproofing properties are required.
SPEED BEAD also features the latest flexible bead technology. A contoured bonding surface combined with variable wall thickness design works in harmony to ensure strong adhesion to the bonding substrate.

SPEED BEAD has been independently tested in the laboratory to exceed ASTM E330/E330M-14 (load test), ASTM E331-00 (Water Resistance), and ASTM E283-04 (Air Leakage). SPEED BEAD is available in three colors—white, tan, and gray—to accommodate a wide variety of surfaces.
