For Easy-Clean and Soil-Resistant Properties "3M™ Novec™ Fluorosurfactants":
3M™ Novec™ Fluorosurfactants provide low surface tension in organic or water-based coating systems and belong to the coating additives class.
3M Novec Fluorosurfactants, which serve as excellent wetting, leveling and flow control agents for various water-based, solvent-based and high solids coating systems, are soluble, compatible with most polymers and remain active throughout the drying or curing process.
When used with water-based polymer systems, they reduce surface tension. Thanks to their low surface tension, they provide easy-clean and soil-resistant properties when used in various paints and coatings. Test results with different paints have shown that 3M Novec Fluorosurfactants provide significantly lower surface tension compared to other surfactants. The addition of 3M Novec Fluorosurfactants in small amounts to formulations also contributes to the production of paints with lower VOC content. 3M Novec Fluorosurfactants can be used not only in decorative paints but also in industrial paints, furniture and metal paints, paints used in the automotive and aerospace sectors, and adhesives.
For Thermal Insulation and Condensation Prevention "3M Glass Microspheres":
3M™ Glass Microspheres, with low viscosity for lightweight, high-strength elastomeric roof coatings and condensation-preventive paints, are chemically stable hollow microspheres made of soda-lime-borosilicate glass. Due to their low thermal conductivity coefficient, they aid in reflecting solar radiation and increase the heat insulation properties of the paint. When compared with standard exterior facade paints in various tests, they have been shown to provide over 10% heat insulation.
Tests have shown that different types of 3M™ Glass Microspheres provide different insulation effects and deliver significantly better results compared to ceramics and CaCO3.
As the particle size of glass microspheres decreases, they have been observed to provide better heat insulation in the paint into which they are added. In addition to heat insulation, 3M™ Glass Microspheres, developed for kitchens and bathrooms with high humidity levels and usable in condensation-preventive paints, can be used not only in exterior facade paints but also in production facilities where temperature must be maintained below certain levels, cold storage facilities, and gasoline and gas storage areas. As an additive material in paints and coatings, 3M™ Glass Microspheres provide manufacturers with advantages in insulation, scratch resistance and cost reduction per liter, and with their superior properties compared to paints without insulation additives and other insulation additives, they will continue to be a preferred product in next-generation paints of the future.
