Turkish Textile Industry Reduces Reliance on Imported Dyestuffs

Turkey, which ranks among the top 5 countries in global textile production with a 3.3% market share, imports the majority of its textile dye supply from abroad. Through investments by successful Turkish manufacturers, Turkey is expanding its market share and reducing its dependence on foreign sources in this field. Kimsoy A.Ş., based in Adana, has become Europe's largest producer in this sector. From raw material procurement to the final product stage, its output is controlled with technological equipment, and the products are preferred especially in foreign markets for clean textiles and sustainable textiles. Listed on the supplier preference lists of numerous foreign brands, Kimsoy becomes the preferred choice for brands that prioritize the use of "Turkish-made" raw materials in Turkey as well. Emphasizing that continued R&D investments and quality production will further reduce Turkey's dependence on imports in the chemistry sector, the company announced its target of reaching annual production of 3,500 tonnes. Founded in Adana in 1997 by Eksoy Kimya and its Korean partner Kisco, Kimsoy will grow further with an investment it will bring online in the final quarter of this year. The facility currently produces reactive dyes used in dyeing cellulosic fibres with an annual capacity of 2,200 tonnes. With the new reactor and cooling line to be commissioned, it will reach an annual capacity of 3,500 tonnes. With this capacity, Kimsoy has solidified its position as Europe's largest reactive dye producer.
