Looking at the disadvantages of natural dyes, it is difficult to achieve all desired colours with these dyes. Especially in some rural areas, it is difficult to find plants that provide the desired colour. Furthermore, these plants need to be harvested during their flowering period and it is not always possible to obtain them. Regarding synthetic dyes, their richness in colour variety, bright colours, short dyeing process and constant availability are among their positive characteristics. At the same time, under the same conditions they can produce the same result and dye fibres more easily. Looking at the negative characteristics of synthetic dyes, fading occurs when working with those that have low fastness values, and these fadings disrupt colour harmony in other areas. At the same time, they are more expensive than natural dyes. The most important point to consider in textile dyes is suitability to the raw material to be applied. Not every dye is suitable for every raw material. For this reason, the areas of use of dyes vary according to their types. For example, pigment dyes are used in textile materials composed of synthetic fibres, particularly polyamide, polyester, cotton fibres and their blends. Regarding basic dyes, they are used in textile materials composed of cotton, viscose, modal and polyacrylonitrile fibres.
