Water Savings Investment of EUR 500,000 ARTA Tekstil, which consumes water below sector average thanks to treatment and recycling systems, is continuing to demonstrate its respect for nature by raising its water reuse target to 15 percent in 2023. For 35 years, ARTA Tekstil has been operating with environmental responsibility awareness to transfer a clean and healthy environment to future generations and ensure sustainability. The company is now maximizing the efficient use of water spent in production through an investment of approximately EUR 500,000 in water savings. Among the first companies in Turkey to receive the "Care for Water" certificate from leading global brands in the textile sector, the company is continuously monitoring water consumption as part of its improvement initiatives and focusing on methods to use water most efficiently.

ARTA Tekstil co-founder Arif Nalbant made the following remarks on the subject:

"As clean water resources continue to diminish globally, as members of one of the most water-consuming sectors, we need to increase our preventive measures. By improving our systems, it is possible to reduce water consumption below international averages and reuse the water we consume through recovery. We must obtain maximum efficiency from the water we consume. We are currently reusing approximately 9 percent of the water we consume, and our target is to increase this ratio to 15 percent through projects we will implement in 2023." Investment of approximately EUR 500,000 in water savings

With its sustainable production structure that does not jeopardize the world and protects the environment, ARTA Tekstil is continuing to reduce water consumption per kilogram in production through water reuse, process improvement, alternative chemical use, dosing systems and software as part of its improvement initiatives, while monitoring consumption. Arif Nalbant, co-founder of ARTA Tekstil, stated that the company realized an investment of approximately EUR 500,000 last year for the systems it established for water savings. "We always prioritize our sustainability investments. So far we have implemented an investment of approximately EUR 500,000, consisting of EUR 200,000 for machine overhaul, EUR 200,000 for heat recovery system to recover water, EUR 50,000 for installation of electronic meters, EUR 20,000 for inspection and replacement of defective valves, and EUR 5,000 for drawing a water line from Kotik Recovery to the 10K Pluvia washing line," he explained. Noting that they follow all kinds of innovative approaches worldwide and try to evaluate the feasibility of their implementation, Nalbant said, "We have many targets for 2023. Looking at them in order: water circulation project for sanforizing machines (95 percent of water used will be recovered), water circulation project for rotary printing lines (water will be used 3 times, achieving 66 percent savings), screen and squeegee washing systems (30 percent savings), improvement work on water consumption in pad-steam machines (15 percent savings), and use of wastewater instead of clean water in the bio boiler flue (as a result of these, 8 percent of the factory's water consumption will be recovered)."
