Contact. The most important thing that connects the world within a person to the world outside. The human spirit, through this, touches the universe… And with each touch, the fingerprint left carries the person's identity along with their story. Life has been advancing through digital world tools that have settled at the center of our lives during the pandemic period for a long time. Education, social, cultural and work life are now nourished by phones, screens, emails, video conferences. We are somehow communicating with our communities in every field, but are we really seeing each other? Despite all the benefits of the digital world that eliminates distances, the privilege of being physically in the same space and sharing remains our greatest longing. Are we really touching, are we really making contact with life? For 15 years, EİB has been creating an awareness platform by giving Turkey's young designers the opportunity to present themselves and contributing to the development of the Turkish Fashion Industry with the new values it brings to the sector. The concept of EİB's 16th competition brings these questions to the forefront.CONTACT-LESS!
Contact-less presents the reality of digital contact with billions of people through technology rather than physical touch as this year's new playing field for fashion designers. New digital realities we are waiting for include environments simulated with technologies that will experience the concept of mixed reality by adding touch to visual and auditory reality, Avatars that will be our new digital identities, the rise of bio-materials and the creation of a biophilic design world, the transformation of the concept of sustainability from a concept to a vital necessity, and a reinterpretation of business world, wealth, prosperity, success, politics, and economic values in a way that will prioritize individual satisfaction and pleasure concepts… A completely different world is forming before us.Advertisement
