Dyeing dark shades has traditionally been more difficult and costly; it requires higher dye concentrations, greater water and energy consumption, and additional steps or re-dyeing to achieve uniform colour. Dark shades also tend to fade more quickly than lighter fabrics, particularly when exposed to sunlight and repeatedly washed at home. The dyes do not contain arylamines, including PCA*, and offer excellent fastness properties, retaining vibrant colours through repeated home washing and when exposed to light, perspiration and chlorine. Three new and improved dark colours have been added to the AVITERA® SE range, providing access to more colour combinations across a wide colour spectrum with the highest colour consistency: AVITERA® BLACK PEARL SE: A greenish-cast black dye with high colour consistency that can be used to correct metamerism. AVITERA® BLUE HORIZON SE: A dark blue component with good light fastness in medium and deep shades, high oxidative fastness and high resistance to nitrogen oxides (NOx) in the atmosphere. AVITERA® NIGHT STORM SE: A new navy shade with a greenish colour tone and strong build. Recommended for dyeing the deepest navy and combination shades.
