Yorglass achieves excellent sustainability score

Yorglass achieved an "A" excellent sustainability score in the CRIF ESG assessment, which evaluates companies' sustainability performance by assessing environmental, social and governance factors. In this assessment, which covers many criteria such as transparency, ethical conduct, reducing environmental impact, respect for employee rights and supply chain management, the company demonstrated excellent performance and strongly proved its sustainability commitments and environmental responsibility. Yorglass once again demonstrated its position as a pioneer in environmentally conscious and socially responsible business practices with the success it achieved in the CRIF ESG assessment, which objectively measures companies' sustainability performance. Gülfem Yorgancılar, Sustainability Committee Chair at Yorglass, stated that the score obtained in the CRIF ESG assessment is concrete proof of the company's efforts in the field of sustainability: "Since our founding day, we have continuously worked to reduce our environmental impact, create social impact and promote ethical business practices. It is a great source of pride for us that this effort and hard work have found recognition on the international stage. The CRIF ESG assessment was conducted on corporate operations, water, energy, waste, environmental certification, human resources, relations with social stakeholders, public relations, management structure and composition, certification and regulatory matters. We broke records by scoring full marks on most parameters. To lay the foundation for this success, as Yorglass we are taking steps toward a greener and more just future by integrating our sustainability values into our business practices, and we will continue to do so. While fulfilling our responsibilities to our customers, employees and society, adhering to sustainability principles has always been our priority. We manage our production processes in an environmentally conscious manner, work to minimize our energy and water consumption, and continuously strive to reduce the amount of waste. Gülfem Yorgancılar, commenting on the sustainability work behind this success: "With the responsibility that comes from being a UN Global Compact signatory, having science-based targets commitment, reporting for years at CDP and having all our facilities obtain Zero Waste Certification, we conduct our business processes in line with this vision. In this way, we take sustainability steps in sync with the world, and implement our investments in line with our sustainability targets. We do not view future planning solely as a business objective; rather, through our investments designed to protect the planet and reduce energy consumption, we serve our customers' sustainability goals. We report to our customers their energy consumption on a product code basis, guiding them toward higher energy efficiency targets. We are transforming the rooftops of some of our factories into solar panel fields. Within the framework of the United Nations Science-Based Targets, we aim to reduce our carbon emissions by 50 percent by 2032 and reach net zero targets by 2050. We have committed ourselves to creating sustainable value, contributing to society, raising awareness in the sustainability field with the aim of leaving a better world for future generations, and moving toward common goals while staying in communication with all our stakeholders in our ecosystem, and we will continue to advance steadily on this path" she stated.
